What, you might ask, is a mountain witch?
Honestly I don’t know. I just kinda came up with it. I’m from Appalachia, so I grew up with mountains within view from wherever you were standing, and I’ve lived in a lot of places without them- as I do now- and I always feel a little off kilter without that border on my peripheral vision. I wasn’t built for flat land. I plan to be living near mountains soon again. I don’t follow a stringent “Appalachian Granny Witch” program or claim to have the blood of generations of soothsayers in my veins. I just feel a very close connection to mountains as a source of everything- water, dirt, weather, and so on.
I started doing witchcraft alone about 23 years ago when I was still in high school, and all I basically had then was a copy of Buckland’s big blue book and a little blue suitcase full of candles and incense and other stuff I found to witch with. My older sister gave me my first tarot deck when I was about 18, and I’ve been reading and dabbling and reading more and dabbling more since.
I’ve developed a reading style which is fairly to-the-point. I don’t claim any psychic talent or ability above or beyond what any of the rest of us have- I just know I can read cards.
